Deputy Minister Kakar meets Turkish Deputy Ambassador
Wafiullah Kakar, Deputy Minister for Refugee Affairs, spoke in an introductory meeting with the Turkish Deputy Ambassador to Afghanistan, Mr. Atassay Erongun, about the situation of Afghan migrants in Turkey and the process of their return to Afghanistan.
Deputy Minister Kakar, while recalling the long-standing, friendly, and fraternal relations between Afghanistan and Turkey and the high number of Afghan migrants in Turkey, emphasized maintaining good relations and developing cooperation between the two countries in the field of migration.
HE Kakar announced his visit to Turkey shortly to discuss the framework of joint cooperation on migration between Afghanistan and Turkey and the situation of Afghan migrants.
The Turkish Deputy Ambassador also described the relations between the two countries as excellent and fraternal and stressed the need to continue cooperating with the Afghan government in the field of migration.
Mr. Kakar informed Mr. Erongun about the progress made in the draft Labor Migration Policy, the Comprehensive Migration Policy (CMP), the Afghan National Diaspora Engagement Policy (ANDEP), and the ministry's preparations for two scenarios: the realization and non-realization of peace and its impact on the Afghan migration process.
