Deputy Minister Kakar: "The return strategy must be realistic."

On Sunday, 18 April 2021, Deputy Minister for Refugee Affairs Wafiullah Kakar referred in a meeting with representatives of the National Security Council, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Statistics and Information Authority to the manifold dimensions of the Afghan return process from Pakistan under the Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity (APAPPS).

Deputy Minister Kakar stressed the need to develop a realistic strategy for returnees. He also mentioned the challenge in identifying returnees as one of the major problems facing the Afghan government and acknowledged that the issue of identifying returnees must be taken very seriously.

Mr. Kakar also highlighted that the sectoral ministries are requested to provide complete and accurate information on the security, economic and social situation in the province of the migrant who intends to return to prevent confusions and unreliable information.
